Because Avocado’s mission is creating sustainable products, we prefer our fully organic, absorbent, and breathable Organic Cotton Mattress Pad Protector. However, we also realize sometimes practicality trumps all else. That’s why we made this Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector. The fitted, lightweight pad is waterproof, machine-washable, and dependable in protecting your mattress from life’s little accidents. The waterproof polyurethane is thin, so it doesn’t have a plastic-like crinkle or rubbery noise, and you won’t overheat. Plus, it’s sandwiched by two layers of soft GOTS organic certified cotton.
STAY SAFE & DRY
Our waterproofing technology is made from an ultra-thin polyurethane waterproof barrier. We don’t use vinyl, PVC, or phthalates, and it isn’t dense, noisy, or rubbery, either. Our Waterproof Mattress Protector pairs with Avocado mattresses and is made with 95% organic cotton and just 5% polyurethane, which is within GOTS standards for an essential material accessory. Fine pores allow humidity to escape while the layer keeps liquid out. Plus, it protects against bacteria and dust mites.
WHY ORGANIC MATTERS
Conventional cotton is a polluted crop. So we use GOTS organic certified cotton for the two absorptive layers sandwiching the waterproof barrier, as well as on the fitted elastic skirt. Best of all, organic cotton delivers a luxurious and soft finish, breathes easily, and wicks away moisture better than any synthetic.
EASY CARE
Our waterproof protector is meant to be washed before use. That's because the GOTS organic certified cotton will shrink. It may take multiple washes until it's the perfect fit for your mattress. For future washes, simply spot clean or machine wash using an eco-conscious laundry detergent. Do not use bleach. Tumble dry on low or just air it out on the line until completely dry.

Our Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions and Formaldehyde Free certified by UL Environment. That means the mattress protector is scientifically proven to meet some of the world's most rigorous, third-party emissions standards for chemical exposure and pollutants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, and phthalates. The mattress protector is also MADE SAFE® Certified, so you can trust all the materials we use are free from ingredients linked to or suspected to cause harm to humans, animals, or ecosystems. Few mattress protectors meet this gold standard.
