Every one of our Cedar Stump Side Tables has its own story. We craft them in our sustainable Los Angeles woodshop from smoothed down, real red cedar and a clear varnish. With their natural knots, hues, burrs, and cracks, each piece is entirely unique. The light tones lend a warm touch to any room — and pair elegantly with our Malibu collection — while the rich maroon colors on the inside of the wood add a pop of vibrancy. Consistent with our broader company values, we handcraft all our furniture to meet the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility.

A lot of furniture is mass-made with flimsy materials. Each piece looks exactly the same. That's not how we do things at Avocado. We individually handcraft all our furniture with solid wood. We believe in letting the rich character of the wood speak for itself. This way, every piece is original to that specific part of the tree. Our Cedar Stump Side Tables feature various knots, nicks, bumps, and bruises — such is life. It costs a little more to do things this way. But our customers love having unique, durable, thoughtfully crafted furniture that will last generations.

Our Cedar Stump Side Table is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions and Formaldehyde Free certified by UL Environment. And, as members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, you can rest assured that our furniture meets the standards for responsible furniture manufacturing.
CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED
As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren't enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That's why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis.

Expect minor cracks, blemishes, scars, and knots. We sand down our Cedar Stump Side Tables so they're smooth, and to bring out the rich color of the wood. But keep in mind the side table was a real, live, beautiful thing — and the nature of its life will be on full display. Rest assured — we make our side tables with solid, heavy wood, protected by a clear, eco-friendly varnish. They will stand up to the test of time.

We offer our Cedar Stump Side Tables in three heights — 16", 20", and 24". (Please note, the diameter for each will naturally vary, but will be around 12".) Each will stand out on its own, but as a set, they'll complement each other and augment any space with rich, comforting tones. Use them to hold plants, books, coffee, or whatever your imagination desires.
